Plexus Worldwide has made quite a ruckus during the last few years with its flagship “Pink Drink” weight loss supplement that apparently helps people lose weight in no time…
Somebody told you that you can take advantage of that popularity of Plexus Worldwide and make quite a lot of money by selling the company’s products as its MLM Ambassador.
Since you were already looking for a money-making opportunity, you are considering it.
However, you are aware that MLM companies are usually not as angelic as presented by their reps. You’ve heard your fair share of MLM horror stories…
People whose money, friends, and family went down the drain after joining pyramid schemes posing as legit MLM companies that turned them into disgusting salespeople pitching crappy products/services to everyone in their line of sight.
You definitely not want to end up like that.

Compensation Plan
The majority of MLM companies have so overly complicated compensation plans that it feels like you need to have a rocket scientist doctorate to understand just their first paragraph.
Plexus Worldwide is no exception…
Nonetheless, I’ll try my best to get you up to speed.
Plexus Worldwide compensates its Ambassadors in 11 different ways.
- Retail Rewards Commissions
- Retail Rewards Override Commissions
- Preferred Customer Bonus
- One-Time Achievement Bonus
- Fast Start Bonus
- Business Building Bonus
- Plexus Points
- Emerald Pool Bonus
- Sapphire Pool Bonus
- Diamond Pool Bonus
- Diamond Re-Entry Position
…until you’ve taken a good look at these shocking MLM statistics.
1 • Retail Rewards Commissions
Earn up to 25% commissions on the product purchases made by you as well as by retail customers both offline and online.
You qualify for those retail commissions only once you’ve reached 100PV.
- 0PV – 99.99PV = 0% commissions
- 100PV – 499.99PV = 15% commissions
- 500PV+ = 25% commissions
PV (Personal Volume) = Increases as you or your retail customers purchase products
2 • Retail Rewards Override Commissions
When an Ambassador you have personally recruited to Plexus earns Retail Rewards Commissions you will receive 5% of their total PV minus 100PV.
Example:
If you sponsor an Ambassador who made 2500 PV in one month, your override commission for that month from that Ambassador would be (2500PV – 100PV) * 5% = 2400PV * 5% = $120
3 • Preferred Customer Bonus
Preferred Customer = Customer who has signed up for a monthly auto-ship order.
Each time your Preferred Customer places an order for a product or pack you will earn a bonus.
These bonuses range from $4 – $22 per product or pack depending on the product or pack ordered by your Preferred Customer.
For instance, if your Preferred Customer purchases a Slim Hunger Control, you’ll earn a $11 bonus.
4 • One-Time Achievement Bonus
Plexus Wordlwide awards you with a one-time Achievement Bonus the first time you achieve and get paid at one of the following ranks:
- Silver Ambassador – $100
- Gold Ambassador – $250
- Senior Gold Ambassador – $350
- Ruby Ambassador – $500
- Senior Ruby Ambassador – $750
5 • Fast Start Bonus
If you recruit three new Ambassadors within your first 30 days as an Ambassador you earn
- $100 Fast Start Bonus
- Silver Achievement Bonus
- Business Building Bonuses
- Plexus Points
If you achieve this in 14 days or less you earn a $100 Enhanced Fast Start Bonus on top of the 30-Day $100 Fast Start Bonus!
If new Ambassadors to do the same within your first 60 days as an Ambassador and earn
- $150 Fast Start Bonus
- Super Silver Achievement Bonus
- Business Building Bonuses
- Plexus Points
If they do it within your first 90 days, you earn
- $250 Fast Start Bonus
- Gold Achievement Bonus
- Business Building Bonuses
- Plexus Points
Find out more about those Fast Start Bonuses right here.
6 • Business Building Bonus
This Business Building Bonus is paid each time a new Plexus Ambassador purchases a Welcome Pack, through a uni-level structure up to 4 levels of Ambassadors deep.
- 1st level = the Ambassadors you have personally recruited
- 2nd level = the Ambassadors your personally recruited Ambassadors have recruited
- 3rd level = the Ambassadors your 2nd level Ambassadors have recruited
- and so on
The amount of your bonus depends on how deep in your team the new Ambassador who made the Welcome Pack purchase is.
- 1st Level Welcome Pack Purchase = $25 bonus
- 2nd Level Welcome Pack Purchase = $12.5 bonus
- 3rd Level Welcome Pack Purchase = $7.5 bonus
- 4th Level Welcome Pack Purchase = $5 bonus
Welcome Packs cost either $99 or $199.
$199 Welcome Packs have the same payout amounts as the $99 Welcome Packs.
However, $199 Welcome Packs give out Plexus points to Ambassadors up to 7 levels deep.
- Levels 1-3 = 5 Plexus points
- Level 4 = 4 Plexus points
- Level 5 = 3 Plexus points
- Level 6 = 2 Plexus points
- Level 7 = 1 Plexus point
7 • Plexus Points
At the end of each month, the Plexus Points that you have earned by the Welcome Pack purchases the new Ambassadors on your team have made are added up and multiplied by the value of a Plexus Point for that month.
The value of a Plexus Point is determined by dividing the total number of Plexus Points earned by all Ambassadors in a single month with the total amount of money in the Ambassador Pool for that month.
8 • Emerald Pool Bonus
3% of the 50% of the company’s total commissionable volume is set aside for the Emerald Pool and is divided equally among qualified Emerald, Sapphire and Diamond Ambassadors.
9 • Sapphire Pool Bonus
1% of the 50% of the company’s total commissionable volume is set aside for the Sapphire Pool and is divided equally among qualified Sapphire and Diamond Ambassadors.
If an Ambassador qualifies for the Sapphire Pool, they would automatically qualify for the Emerald Pool as well.
10 • Diamond Pool Bonus
1% of the 50% of the company’s total commissionable volume is set aside for the Diamond Pool and is divided equally among qualified Diamond Ambassadors.
If an Ambassador qualifies for the Diamond Pool, they would automatically qualify for the Emerald and Sapphire Pools as well.
11 • Diamond Re-Entry Position
When you achieve the rank of Diamond Ambassador, you can re-enter the program with an additional (second) position that will be placed directly under your original position on your 1st level of Ambassadors.
Your re-entry position operates precisely as your original position and is subject to all of the same guidelines, qualifications, and policies.
This second position gives you a double-leverage on the earning power of the team you have already built as you’ll get paid once for the sales volume of the Ambassadors under your new position, as well as for the same sales volume of the Ambassadors under your original position.
Note: You must have 6,000 total Plexus Points in your organization in order to qualify for a Diamond Re-Entry Position.
Ambassadors who reach the Emerald rank or higher can participate in either the Plexus Car Program or the Lifestyle Bonus Program.
Plexus Car Program
The Ambassadors who qualify for the Plexus Car Bonus Program receive a monthly car bonus payment according to their rank in towards acquiring a Lexus.
The monthly car bonus payment is $600 for Emerald, $750 for Sapphire and $1,200 for Diamond a month for up to 36 months.
Lifestyle Bonus Program
Ambassadors who qualify for the Plexus Lifestyle Bonus Program will receive a monthly lifestyle bonus according to their rank.
The monthly lifestyle bonus payment is $420 for Emerald, $525 for Sapphire and $840 for Diamond.
You can study Plexus Worldwide’s full compensation plan right here. I also located a 3-page summary of the company’s compensation plan right here.
The video below sums up the compensation plan pretty neatly so you might want to watch it before moving any further.
Please note that Plexus Worldwide’s compensation plan might undergo changes from time to time so by the time you read this review, some of the info, the commission rates, the rank qualifications, etc that are displayed in the video and PDF files I shared with you right above might not be that accurate.

How to Join Plexus Worldwide as an Ambassador?
You can join Plexus Worldwide as an Ambassador right here.
Once you are on the page, click the “Get Started” button and fill in the form with your personal information.
Then, you’ll be redirected to a page where you’ll be prompted to purchase your annual membership as well as a Welcome Pack.
Purchasing a Welcome Pack is optional. You can continue by selecting just your annual membership.
Next page, you’ll have to sign up for an auto-ship order. Unfortunately, this step is mandatory but the good news is that you can cancel this auto-ship order once you create your account.
Lastly, fill in your payment and shipping information and you are done!
How Much Does It Cost to Join Plexus Worldwide as an Ambassador?
You can become a Plexus Worldwide Ambassador with just $39.95 per year.
Upon joining you can purchase a Welcome Pack that includes discounted products for $99 or $199 only if you want.
Also, keep in mind that to keep yourself active and qualified for commissions you’ll have to maintain 100PV during a 30-day period.
This 100PV can come either from retail customer sales or from personal product purchases.
This means that if you gather 60PV through retail sales during a month, in order to keep yourself active and qualified to earn commissions, you’ll have to get your PV up to 100 by purchasing 40PV products yourself.
Is Plexus Worldwide a Pyramid Scheme?
Most of the time it’s very hard to distinguish between a legit MLM company and a pyramid scheme.
The video below will help you understand how to spot and avoid pyramid schemes in general.
The main difference between an MLM and a pyramid scheme is that MLMs give you the opportunity to earn commissions by selling actual products or services to other people in retail without having to recruit them while with a pyramid scheme the only way to earn money is by recruiting other people into the scheme.
Not all MLMs are legitimate. If the money you make through an MLM is based on your sales to the public, it may be a legitimate one. If the money you make is based on the number of people you recruit and your sales to them, it’s not legit. It’s a pyramid scheme. Pyramid schemes are illegal, and the vast majority of their participants lose money. – Federal Trade Commission
Since Plexus Worldwide offers you the option to make money by selling its products to retail customers, technically, the company is not a pyramid scheme.
However, managing to build a substantial monthly income just by selling the company’s products in retail is very doubtful so if you aren’t after earning just pennies you’ll probably have to accept the fact that you’ll need to focus your efforts on recruiting.
Plexus Ambassador Pros
- Free Replicated Website
- Affordable to Join
- Established Company
1 • Free Replicated Website
As a Plexus Ambassador, you get your hands on a replicated website for free.
When someone purchases products through your replicated website, you earn up 25% commissions of the total price paid by that customer.
In addition, if someone signs up as a Plexus Ambassador through your website you automatically become their sponsor, and they become part of your downline.
If marketed the right way, this website could help you maximize your customers and your recruits, and thus your income.
Truthfully, I’d never join an MLM that didn’t offer some kind of website or e-shop for free or for a very small fee at worst…
If your business is not on the internet, then your business will be out of business – Bill Gates
2 • Affordable to Join
Joining Plexus Worldwide as an Ambassador is very affordable compared to the average MLM company.
$39.95 per year is way too little for an opportunity that could help you earn 20 times as much or maybe even more per month.
Just to give you a frame of reference, NewYou (a CBD MLM) requires you to pay at least $70 per month to keep yourself active and qualified for commissions.
3 • Established Company
At the time of this review, Plexus Worldwide has been standing for 14 years which is exceptional considering that most MLM companies shut down before they even reach their 5th birthday.
This makes Plexus Worldwide a good choice for those who want to build a long-term, sustainable income.
Plexus Ambassador Cons
- MLM Business Model
- Very Low Income Potential
- Tons of BBB complaints
- Complicated Compensation Plan
- Unrealistic Claims
1 • MLM Business Model
As mentioned earlier, I am not fond of the MLM business model in general for many reasons…
First of all, the percentage of MLM participants who actually make a profit is awfully low (74% – 99%)
Secondly, I hate selling…
And thirdly, I’ve heard so many stories of people losing all their friends, family, and money due to the pushy and sleazy practices they were being taught by their “mentors” that I have become repulsed by the MLM business model in general.
Being involved in an MLM is just not worth the trouble in my mind.
Especially when there exist other much more legit ways of earning a lot more money without having to go through all that struggle of becoming a sleazy salesperson and jeopardizing your relationships with those around you because you are perceiving them as walking bags of cash.
2 • Very Low Income Potential
According to Plexus Worldwide’s income disclosure statement, 82.41% of Plexus Ambassadors made less than $301 during 2016.
Furthermore, only 0.75% made more than $20k that year.
The income potential Plexus offers is way too little to even worth the trouble.
3 • Tons of BBB Complaints
BBB (Better Business Bureau) is a non-profit organization that ranks businesses, charities and non-profit organizations based on their legitimacy, the information they gather about the business and complaints received from customers.
The higher a company’s rating, the more credible and trustworthy the company is in the eyes of BBB.
Plexus Worldwide has been rated with A+ by BBB which is actually the highest rating but still, there are 80 complaints under the company’s BBB profile.
Most of those complaints have to do with delivery and billing issues and seem to have been resolved.
However, I few of those complaints have been left by customers who claimed that Plexus Worldwide’s products damaged their health (see images below).
You can take a closer look at all the complaints about Plexus within BBB right here.
After coming across those BBB health-related complaints, I dug a little deeper and well, what do you know!
As it seems, most of the 1-star reviews about Plexus inside bestcompany.com had also to do with people who were experiencing health-related issues after using the company’s products (see images below).
4 • Complicated Compensation Plan
Override bonuses, fast start commissions, packages here and there, pools, points, levels, various percentages, dozens of different ranks and qualification, blah blah blah…
A person who is relatively new to MLMs doesn’t stand a single chance of understanding how Plexus Worldwide’s compensation plan really works.
Hell, even I had trouble understanding it fully and I have read dozens MLM compensation plans until now.
But did you know that most MLMs make their compensation plans so complicated on purpose?
It’s called “Complexity Bias” and it’s the tendency of people to trust complex concepts more than simple ones.
Marketers use complexity bias all the time to boost the sales of a product/service by incorporating confusing language or insignificant details into its packaging or sales copy.
MLM companies do the exact same thing with their compensation plans to get more people to join them.
You can read more about complexity bias right here.
5 • Unrealistic Claims
Plexus Worldwide’s website is full of unrealistic claims about the results its products bring as well as about the business opportunity it offers.
The company keeps claiming that using its products will change your life and make you happier and healthier than ever and the business opportunity it offers to you is going to allow you to change the world and find financial fulfillment something that based on the company’s income disclosure couldn’t be further from true.
According to my research, Tarl Robinson (founder and CEO of Plexus), has received an FDA warning for those unrealistic claims.
In addition, there have been over 100 instances in which Plexus Ambassadors have made claims that Plexus’s products can treat, cure, alleviate the symptoms of, prevent, or reduce the risk of developing diseases and disorders such as
- eczema
- arthritis
- chronic pain
- autoimmune diseases
- cancer
- diabetes
- and more
truthinadvertising.org maintains a record of all the unrealistic health claims made by Plexus’s Ambassadors right here.
Plexus Worldwide MLM Summary
Income
Potential
82.41% of Plexus Ambassadors earned less than $301 during 2016.
Resources
Provides training, success kit, personalized website, marketing tools, and resources, etc.
Price
Very affordable to join – only $39.95 per year.
Legitimacy
Plexus Worldwide is NOT a pyramid scheme. However, it’s compensation plan is geared towards recruitment and not retail sales.
Overall Rating
Is Plexus Worldwide Suggested?
Joining Plexus Worldwide is NOT suggested.
The company’s income disclosure statement reveals that most of its Ambassadors make almost no money.
In addition, there are tons of complaints about the company and its products online.
Furthermore, I am not at all fond of the MLM business model in general.
- The success rate and profitability of MLM reps are awfully low
- MLM companies are extremely volatile and unstable
- You need to invest a ton of money, time, and energy until you manage to make a profit (if you ever actually make a profit)
- Most MLM companies focus on recruiting people instead of selling valuable and beneficial products/services
Plus, in order to make money with the MLM business model, you’ll probably have to turn into a sleazy salesperson and I really hate selling as much as I hate being sold to.

Dear Harry,
I have a friend who was trying to get me to buy their products. It was uncomfortable because I researched them and found large numbers of unsatisfied customers who complained of great difficulties getting out of the auto-ship program. Not to mention those that suffered from health issues related to the products. I politely refused to participate, arguing that I already was using products that worked to promote my health in my own way. Now when someone approaches me about Plexus (and another woman just did this week) I tell them (and this is the truth) that I am sensitive to coffee which is one of the primary ingredients of the pink drink.
Plexus is not a pyramid scheme. Neither is Cutco, the knife company – but they are both hiring employees using a pyramid system that pays those who hang on the longest the most money. Cutco – like Plexus – treats its front-line (bottom of the pyramid) employees poorly and uses them (basically for free) until they quit out of frustration. Then it just targets more people. Pampered Chef is a little better, simply because its customer service is excellent and so are many of its products.
So yes, before you decide to become a glorified door-to-door vacuum cleaner salesperson, do your homework. Find out how reliable your company really is. Don’t jump on board and agree to “sell” within the first year of using the products. Wait and see if they are still doing their magic 3 years down the road (if you can afford it). Then research, and get a feeling for the company’s presence, its customer service, and employee support.
Hi Kelly, it might sound far-fetched, but most MLMs make unsubscribing from their auto-ship programs a nightmare on purpose in an attempt to keep milking their customers for as long as possible.
Plexus isn’t a pyramid scheme, but it certainly has a few characteristics of one, like the pyramid-like recruiting system you mentioned.
Personally, I’d never bother joining an MLM. There are hundreds of much more promising money-making opportunities out there, most of which won’t require you to transform yourself into a desperate salesman in exchange for peanuts.
Thanks a ton for your suggestions! I’m sure that many people will find them useful.
All the best and stay safe,
Harry
Harry,
I tried a few MLM’s and been in the field for 17 years and I do agree that Plexus is very affordable to join.
Nowadays it’s really hard to base our purchase decision based on the information we find on the company websites. Many websites are full of hype and unrealistic claims so it is a must to do our homework before joining.
Thank you
Jason
jason@timeandfreedom.com
I am glad to be of help Jason!
You said that you’ve been in the MLM field for 17 years.
How is that going?
For which MLM company are you working right now?
Also, I would like to know if, according of course to your own experience, those MLM statistics I’ve included in this review are accurate.
I looking forward to your reply!
Best regards,
Harry
Thank you for this helpful Plexus Worldwide review!
I am glad that I came across it.
I have personally joined two different MLM companies in the past and I will never join one again.
My friend told me that Plexus was cheap to join but he never told me that it was an MLM.
Thanks a lot for letting me know!
It looks like he was trying to get you to join for him to make some money off of you.
Classic MLM rep behavior – withholding information to get the recruit.
Be aware of him.
Harry
Hi Harry,
Thanks a lot for the helpful and in-depth Plexus Worldwide review.
I have tried a few MLM’s and I do agree that Plexus is very affordable to join.
Nowadays it’s really hard to base our purchase decision based on the information we find on the company websites. Many websites are full of hype and unrealistic claims so it is a must to do our homework before joining.
Plexus Worldwide’s compensation plan is indeed very complicated. But I had no idea about this complexity bias you mentioned.
The tons of BBB complaints is a big red flag for me as well.
Thanks for letting me know!
I probably won’t join Plexus after all.
I am glad that my Plexus Worldwide review helped your decision-making, Paul.
Be safe,
Harry
Hi Harry.
I joined a company similar to Plexus some years ago.
This company sold nutritional supplements that really worked for me. The promises sounded good at the onset, but I could not make a net income, a profit after I had shelled out so much to start up.
Looking at your review, the minimum monthly PV is the hardest rule. After you sell to your family and close friends in the early days, you have to find new customers and ones who will maintain monthly purchases.
The worst thing about Plexus is the number of complaints about the products. I prefer to stay away from these types of businesses but I still appreciate reviews so I can go on to better things.
Hey JJ,
I am happy that you found my review of value!
To tell you truth, something that I didn’t mention within my review, I would never sell something to someone that could potentially damage their health.
I consider this highly unethical and sinister.
The worst part is that even on the Plexus Worldwide’s website, there are no disclaimers about the health problems their products might cause despite the fact that they know that they could cause quite a few.
However, what I have learned by reviewing so many scams is that people will do and say anything to make money off of other people without really caring about the damage they might cause.
Those MLM statistics are quite scary, and I don’t know anyone personally who has joined an MLM company and gone on to make a lot of money. I think the reason for this is people work on the recruiting rather than selling the product, which, unfortunately, is normally overpriced anyway.
I think maybe it is better to take your chances on the other side and start your own online business. I see the stats for that are a lot better. If you have your own business, you don’t have to waste time trying to motivate a downline, and thus have more time to work on it and make it a success.
Why do you think that hardly anyone makes any money by joining an MLM?
I have never personally joined an MLM company but I have attended dozens of recruiting seminars of several ones.
I think that the main reason people fail with MLMs is that their recruiters fill them with unrealistic expectations of earning big bucks without doing much work.
I once attended a Herbalife recruiting seminar and the people presenting the seminar were claiming that if we join they will do all the work for us for a few months and we would earn money for basically doing nothing.
When that doesn’t happen and people realize that selling is actually a skill very hard to cultivate, they quit.
Poor training, as well as poor leadership and mentorship, are definitely two more reasons that people fail in their MLM ventures.
Harry
This is the one of the most honest reviews I’ve ever read on the internet.
You share all the pros and cons about becoming a Plexus Worldwide Ambassador impartially.
Definitely a must-read for those who think about joining.
After reading your Wealthy Affiliate review, I found that it’s much closer to what I am looking for than Plexus.
I might join it as you suggest and start my online business.
Hi Gihan,
I am glad that you found my review useful and that I pointed out something that suits you better.
If you have any questions about Wealthy Affiliate, please let me know.
If you join, after all, I’ll see you inside 😉
Harry
Thanks so much for all the information you have provided here, you’ve been super helpful! I understand the whole process a lot better now.
As far as I can see, even though the company seems to be legit and has been around for some time, the actual income potential appears very low with Plexus Worldwide.
For someone who uses the products themselves, becoming a member will give them the opportunity to purchase the products at a lower price.
This is the only upside as far as I can tell.
Overall, I think there are many better earning opportunities out there.
Thanks again!
Thanks for your input, Shannon!
It’s true that Plexus Worldwide is definitely a good opportunity for those who are already using the company’s products as they will be able to get discounts and maybe even earn some side cash by recommending those products to other people.
However, there are a lot of other opportunities that offer a much higher income potential for those who are after building a full-time income.
Harry
I heard about the MLM opportunity Plexus Worldwide offers a few weeks ago and I was considering joining it.
Sounds like it’s a mixed bag for the most part. Some people have great success with Plexus Worldwide and some really don’t.
Is Plexus Worldwide a scam?
Based on your review I would say it’s firmly in the gray area between legit and scam. I would pursue it if I was experienced with MLMs but maybe it’s wise to avoid it if you’re a complete newbie.
My two cents anyway.
Yeah, I really don’t think that joining Plexus Worldwide would be a good choice for newbies.
Have you considered creating your own online business as I suggested?
It’s definitely a simpler and much more profitable option.
Harry
