Pruvit is an MLM company operating within the health, wellness, and fitness industries.

More specifically, the company manufactures and distributes ketogenic supplements.

The company was first launched in November 2014 by Brian Underwood and is based in Melissa, Texas.

Brian Underwood got hooked with direct selling when he saw how his high school basketball coach had created a second stream of income that way much higher than his coaching salary as a distributor for a direct selling company.

Brian conducted research and realized that most companies in the supplements industry were competing over the exact same market and had nothing unique about them.

Attempting to stand out, he started looking into biohacking (the process of hacking into your own biochemistry to help your body operate more efficiently).

During his research, he noticed that topics such as ketosis and keto diets had created quite a ruckus, becoming more and more popular.

He started learning more about ketosis and ketogenic diets, and how they could benefit the body in order to use this knowledge to create a unique brand that would stand out.

This is how Pruvit came about.

Prüvit was formed out of the ideology of creating something that can transcend the norm. We wanted to take a completely different path. Our focus was to create a transcending brand. – Brian Underwood

Pruvit’s mission is to inspire people to become better versions of themselves.

Its vision is to help people discover how to upgrade your body and mind using the proven science of bio-hacking & ketones and build a lifestyle brand that will disrupt the status quo by introducing ketosis-related technology, education, and community.

According to Pruvit’s website, the company is a worldwide leader and pioneer in ketone technology having created the world’s first consumer-based ketone supplement drink. Naturally, this claim is 100% unsubstantiated.

According to Underwood, the name “Pruvit” means challenging others to back up their words by taking action.

  • “You say you want to be a good dad? Well, prove it!”
  • “You want to run a marathon? Great, prove it!”
  • “You say you want to lose 20 pounds? Prove it!”

Information about Underwood is very limited online so I couldn’t find much more about him and his past ventures.

According to public records, he is currently associated as a Director with a number of other companies, such as

  • Bbl Legacy Group, Inc.
  • Swish Investments, Inc.
  • and Pruvit Holdings, Inc.

Based on some other resources I found online, he also used to be the CEO of at least 2 other MLM companies, Zaggify and Rippln.

What I did find is that other Directors/Co-founders of Pruvit are:

  • Rob DeBoer
  • Terry LaCore
  • and Christopher Harding

Rob DeBoer seems to have been fined for $150.000 by the FTC for helping operate an illegal Ponzi scheme through an MLM called BurnLounge. He also seems to be under investigation by Truth In Advertising for making illegal health claims.

However, Rob claims that he is not part of Pruvit’s leadership team but just a Promoter.

Quoting him:

I WISH I were the co-founder of this company (Pruvit). The REAL truth is, I’m just an independent Promoter like 10’s of thousands of other people around the world.

Rob DeBoer might indeed be a Promoter but he is also working FOR Pruvit as a Keto Coach.

Regarding Terry LaCore, according to behindmlm.com, in 2008 he had a securities fraud case filed against him by the SEC. The case involved millions of dollars in undisclosed payments, with LaCore ending up paying a $50.000 civil penalty.

Later, he founded bHIP Global.

DON'T bother joining an MLM...

…until you’ve taken a good look at these shocking MLM statistics.

Pruvit's Products & Prices

Pruvit manufactures and distributes just the 2 following keto-related supplements:

Keto//OS NAT

Keto//OS NAT is Pruvit’s flagship keto supplement.

  • Healthy cell function
  • DNA repairing
  • Immune system boost
  • Increased mental clarity and cognitive functions

The system is comprised of a number of products along with access to community support by certified Keto Reboot Coaches, specialists, and doctors who offer weekly Q&A sessions as well as tips and recipes to help you throughout your journey.

Keto//Kreme

Another keto supplement formulated to boost the body’s natural ability to convert fat into energy quickly while giving you a mental and physical boost.

Keto/Kreme costs $82 per 20 servings (17.6g per serving).

It goes without saying that all the health benefits Pruvit claims its products could induce are just empty talk…

None of Pruvit’s products and their potential benefits have neither been evaluated nor approved by the FDA.

Also, never, ever, EVER, believe anyone who claims that Pruvit’s products could diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease because they are lying their ass off in order to get their hands on your money.

Is Pruvit a Pyramid Scheme

Most of the time it’s very hard to distinguish between a legit MLM company and a pyramid scheme.

Make sure to watch the video below to discover how to spot and avoid pyramid schemes in general.

The main difference between a legit MLM and a pyramid scheme is that your income potential with a legit MLM is mostly based on selling the company’s actual products or services to retail customers while your income potential with a pyramid scheme is mostly or solely based on recruiting other people into the scheme.

Not all MLMs are legitimate. If the money you make through an MLM is based on your sales to the public, it may be a legitimate one. If the money you make is based on the number of people you recruit and your sales to them, it’s not legit. It’s a pyramid scheme. Pyramid schemes are illegal, and the vast majority of their participants lose money. – Federal Trade Commission

Pruvit is NOT a pyramid scheme.

The company’s compensation plan is mostly geared towards retail sales.

Yes, to qualify for most of its bonuses as well as advance through its ranks you’ll need to have recruits generating sales volume in your downline but even then, this sales volume is derived from their personal retail sales and not their personal purchases.

In fact, the only bonus in Pruvit’s compensation plan out of all 13 that pays you commissions based on the purchases of your personal recruits is the Go Fast Bonus.

As it seems, Pruvit’s compensation plan couldn’t work without retail sales and this is why I had to conclude that Pruvit is not a pyramid scheme.

However, be aware that an MLM company not being a pyramid scheme doesn’t automatically make it a legit and profitable business opportunity.

Keep reading to understand what I am talking about.

Pruvit Pros

  • Free Replicated Website
  • Affordable Entry
  • Exponential Growth
  • Provides Refunds

1 • Free Replicated Website

Once you join Pruvit as a Promoter, you can setup a free replicated website through your back office.

When people purchase Pruvit’s products through your replicated website, 40% of the 50% of the BV generated from their purchase will land in your pocket.

In addition, if someone signs up as a Promoter through your replicated website you automatically become their sponsor, and they become part of your downline.

If marketed the right way, this replicated website could help you maximize your retail sales, recruits and thus your income.

If your business is not on the internet, then your business will be out of business – Bill Gates

2 • Affordable Entry

You can join Pruvit as a Promoter just by purchasing the $37 yearly membership fee.

This is pretty affordable compared to other MLM companies that require hundreds and maybe even thousands of dollars of initial investment to become a part of their MLM compensation plan.

To give you a frame of reference, in order to become a Distributor for an MLM called Enagic Kangen Water you need to purchase one of its products and the cheapest one costs $1980.

3 • Exponential Growth

According to Business for Home, Pruvit’s yearly revenue keeps increasing exponentially year after year.

Pruvit’s Yearly Revenue Overview:

  • 2015 – $20 million
  • 2016 – $40 million
  • 2017 – $214 million
  • 2018 – $325 million

As it seems the company is doing something right, especially if you consider that most MLM companies don’t live long enough to celebrate their 5th birthday.

According to businesswire.com, Pruvit Ventures, Inc. is among the top 5 keto-related companies.

In addition, apparently the keto industry is also growing year after year so you could say that there could be quite some potential right here.

4 • Provides Refunds

Pruvit offers a 100% 30-day money-back guarantee to Promoters or Customers who are not fully satisfied with a Pruvit product for any reason (minus shipping & handling charges incurred).

Research shows that money-back guarantees and refunds increase customers’ feelings of satisfaction with their purchases.

In addition, people are much more likely to buy products that have a money-back guarantee as well as purchase from the same seller that offered it in the future.

You can find out more about Pruvit’s Return& Refund Policy right here.

Pruvit Cons

  • MLM Business Model
  • Complicated Compensation Plan
  • Expensive Packs & Products
  • Low Income Potential
  • BBB Consumer Alert & F Rating
  • Unrealistic & Misleading Claims
  • Potentially Harmful Products

1 • MLM Business Model

As mentioned earlier, I am not at all fond of the MLM business model in general for many reasons…

First of all, the percentage of MLM participants who never actually make a profit is awfully high (74% – 99%).

In addition, the majority of those who do manage to make a profit, don’t earn more than $5000 per year.

Secondly, I hate selling and recruiting…

And thirdly, I’ve heard so many stories of people losing friends, family, and money due to the pushy and sleazy practices they were being taught by their “mentors” that I have become repulsed by the MLM business model in general.

Being involved in an MLM company is just not worth the trouble in my mind.

Especially when there exist other much more legit ways of building a substantial income without having to turn into a sleazy salesperson jeopardizing your relationships with those around you because you can’t stop perceiving them as walking bags of cash.

And truthfully, there’s not a single indication that Pruvit is any different from your average MLM in any way…

2 • Complicated Compensation Plan

Go Fast Bonus, Go MVP, Go Challenge, Go Pro, (Go F*ck yourself), sponsorship trees, TV, BV, PQV, multipliers, various percentages, different ranks and levels, yadda yadda yadda.

A person who is newly introduced to the MLM business model doesn’t stand a chance of really grasping exactly how Pruvit is going to compensate them as a Business Associate.

This is no random occurrence though…

MLM companies make their compensation plans so complicated on purpose to “confuse” people into joining them.

It’s called “Complexity Bias” and it’s the tendency of people to trust complex concepts more than simple ones.

Marketers use complexity bias all the time to boost the sales of a product/service by incorporating confusing language or insignificant details into its packaging or sales copy.

MLM companies do the exact same thing with their compensation plans to get more people to join them.

And no, I am not making things up…

You can read all about complexity bias right here.

3 • Expensive Packs & Products

Although joining Pruvit as a Promoter is relatively cheap, it’s enrollment packs are quite expensive.

Yes, the enrollment packs are optional but let’s not kid ourselves here… Your business won’t start out of thin air… You are going to need to have products to make demonstrations and give away as samples to potential customers and recruits.

If you are serious about earning money with Pruvit, you’ll have to purchase one of its enrollment packs and the cheapest one is the Starter Promoter system and costs $396.

That’s way too much money to invest at once in an MLM.

Especially if you consider that starting and running an online business is way cheaper while offering a lot more chances of actually making a profit.

For instance, I have built 3 online businesses with the help of Wealthy Affiliate until now and I only pay $24.9 per month.

It’s a no brainer.

Anyway, in addition to the enrollment packs, the company’s products are very expensive as well.

I mean, Keto//OS NAT costs $130 for a 20-day supply man… WTF would buy this?

Expensive products will not only be harder to sell but consider that when the products you got with your enrollment pack run out you’ll have to personally purchase more them for demonstration and sampling purposes.

If you want to further increase your chances of actually making a profit with Pruvit, you’ll have to consider using the products yourself as well.

The best way to sell a product is by showing the results you achieved by using it yourself.

However, this translates to even more expenses.

So, don’t be fooled by the very small $37 per year enrollment fee.

The subsequent expenses that you might have to actually run your Pruvit business could rise up to thousands of dollars per year.

4 • Low Income Potential

All Income Disclosure Statements I’ve come across until now reveal the exact same thing… That the vast majority of MLM reps never actually make any profit and those who do make a profit, would have to throw an additional couple of bucks on top of it to buy a pizza.

Unfortunately, Pruvit’s Income Disclosure Statement tells the exact same story.

According to it, the average annual income for the company’s Promoters in 2018 was $1,666.28.

  • 35.33% of Promoters made an average annual income of $13.37
  • 13.34% made an average annual income of $246.57
  • 45.62% made an average annual income of $876.34
  • Less than 1.5% made an average annual income of more than $8000

Again, joining Pruvit or any other MLM it’s just not worth the trouble…

I’d better throw away my money and at least not waste my time…

5 • BBB Consumer Alert & F Rating

Pruvit has grown quite a bad reputation in BBB.

First of all, there are 69 complaints about the company. Those complaints range from shipping and refund issues to faulty and harmful products and even unauthorized charges on people’s credit cards for products they never purchased.

You can take a look for yourself at all the complaints under Pruvit’s BBB profile right here.

Not only BBB has given an F rating to Pruvit but they have also issued 2 consumer alerts about the company.

The first alert has to do with the fact that Pruvit hasn’t addressed any of the complaints they had received. BBB requested the company’s cooperation in eliminating the identified patterns in consumer complaints.

While Pruvit initially responded to BBB’s request, as of February 18, 2019, the business has failed to address the pattern of complaints brought to its attention.

In short, they didn’t give a crap!

The second alert was regarding a multitude of unrealistic and misleading advertising claims that existed on the company’s website about its business opportunity as well as the benefits of its products.

While Pruvit initially responded to BBBs request, as of October 23, 2019, the business has failed to substantiate, modify, or discontinue any of the unrealistic and misleading advertising claims brought to its attention.

You can take a look at both of those alerts BBB has issued about Pruvit right here.

BBB had also notified Pruvit about the lack of an Income Disclosure Statement but as it seems, the company addressed this issue.

6 • Unrealistic & Misleading Claims

Just like 99.99% of MLM companies do, Pruvit and its Promoters make some pretty unrealistic and misleading claims in order to convince people that the company’s products and business opportunity are worth their time, money, and attention.

Under his LinkedIn profile, the company’s founder & CEO claims the following:

Our groundbreaking technology will allow someone to think faster, have better focus and energy, laugh at food cravings, shed fat & look good doing it.

There are dozens of more similar claims made on Pruvit’s official website as well as by the company’s Promoters.

The company seems to be targeting people who are desperate about losing fat but are way too bored to actually workout.

Pruvit claims that to get in a state of ketosis someone has to keep working out for months but by ingesting Keto//OS NAT you can experience perfect energy, perfect focus, and perfect fat loss instantly.

If you’ve been visiting my website for a while you know how much I hate products or companies that promise extraordinary results fast and with no effort.

Most of the time, such promises can’t be delivered and the person who bought into them ends up wasting a lot more time and money until they achieve their end goal.

If you want to lose fat and get fit, get off your ass and start working out… There’s no other way around.

Looking for shortcuts is a huge waste of time.

In addition, a while ago, Rob DeBoer (one of Pruvit’s Keto Coaches) made a claim on his FB page that he could help children with autism “almost immediately” (probably by ingesting Pruvit’s products).

Other health claims made by Pruvit’s Promoters include curing cancer, ADHD, migraines, Parkinson’s, bipolar disorder, seizures, etc.

truthinadvertising.org keeps a record of the unrealistic and misleading claims Pruvit and its Promoters make right here.

7 • Potentially Harmful Products

After researching around the web, I came across several testimonials of people who experienced severe side effects after using Pruvit’s products including

  • diarrhea
  • dizziness
  • headaches
  • panic attacks
  • fogginess
  • fatigue
  • vomit
  • etc

Some consumers even ended up in an emergency room.

you can take a look at some of those testimonials right here.

Wolfe Jones (Commercial, Banking & Real Estate Law) is actively investigating a potential link between Keto//OS and several health injuries, including acute kidney failure, pancreatitis, and/or liver failure among customers who have taken any Keto//OS products.

I don’t know about you but I definitely wouldn’t want to sell products that could potentially damage other people’s health in any way.

Is Pruvit Suggested?

When I started conducting research for this Pruvit review, I was amazed by how professional and organized the company felt like.

Brian Underwood seemed legit, the company had published an official Income Disclosure Statement and an official comp plan, and I could locate more info about ketosis on the company’s website and YouTube channel.

However, as it seems, this was just a “clean” storefront because it all went downhill from there.

The deeper I dove into researching Pruvit, the more shocked I became mostly because I couldn’t believe how wrong my initial impression about the company was.

First of all, there are tons of complaints about the company charging people’s credit cards for products they didn’t even buy.

In addition, the fact that BBB has issued 2 consumer warnings about Pruvit on top of giving it an F rating is definitely a very bad sign…

Furthermore, Pruvit’s unrealistic health claims are purely distasteful but I am not really surprised with them as making unrealistic claims is a flagship practice all MLM companies use.

The worst part is that according to many testimonials, consuming Pruvit’s products could lead to adverse effects on people’s health.

Of course, none of those claims can be proven because Pruvit’s products haven’t been scientifically tested but would you want to be the one who sold a product to someone who ended up in the ER after using it?

I know I wouldn’t!

Lastly, since you are here looking to build an income with Pruvit, let me point out that according to Pruvit’s IDS, 96.3% of its Promoters made less than $1000 during 2018.

Would you really want to invest your time and money in a “business opportunity” with such a low income potential?

If so, then well, you have my blessing!

    1. Hey Janie, thanks a lot for the warning. If you could elaborate on your experience with Pruvit, that would be perfect!

      All the best,

      Harry

  1. Brian Underwood (Pruvit CEO) did assault an elderly man. Fact-check it. There are two Brian Underwood’s in KY. Both have records. Ask his former wife how many times she called the police.

State of Kentucky vs. Brian S. Underwood
    Daviess District Court
    Case #16-M-0145

  2. You might add to your research…

Brian underwood (CEO of Pruvit) has a pending civil lawsuit (Daviess County, KY) against him for assaulting an elderly man.

He was charged criminally and on probation but many think he’s so wonderful. He is in and out of MLM’s and Pruvit is not any better than the previously failed ones he has started.

    1. Hey there! Thanks a lot for the info you provided to us!

I’ll definitely conduct some research regarding your claims and update my review accordingly.

If you could provide some links (blogs, documents, news websites, etc) that back your claims up, that would be very helpful and time-saving.

      Best wishes,

      Harry
